Who is he?
Leonardo da Vinci is an amazingly intelligent man who lived during the renaissance. He was an artist, botanist, scientist, engineer, mathematician, geologist, inventor, musician, writer, anatomist and cartographer. Leonardo was one of the most ideal renaissance man and a perfect vision of what a renaissance man would be.
What is he known for?
Leonardo is known for his world famous painting the Mona Lisa. He is also known for his painting of The Last Supper and all of his journals and notes, which is near 13,000 pages recorded. In general Leonardo is known today for all of his many work.
Early life of Leonardo,
Leonardo's father is Messer Piero Fruosino di Antonio da Vinci and his mother was Caterina. He was born on April the 15th in 1452 and when he turned 14 he became the apprentice to Verrocchio. Leonardo learned many skills in art and other things like chemistry. Then when he painted the angel on The Baptism of Christ with Verrocchio he did it so well it made Verrocchio quit painting forever.

Leonardo has lots of fame for his work especially the Mona Lisa. Because Leonardo knew so much he could sketch designs of all sorts of things that were incredibly beyond what anyone's knowledge could allow. For this and all his studies and sketches it shows that Leonardo is probably the most significant renaissance man in history.
