Mona Lisa
This is the world famous painting the Mona Lisa. The woman in the painting is Lisa Gherardini who was the wife to Francesco del Giocondo. What makes this picture famous is the eyes and mouth. The fact that Leonado shaded the edges of these things makes it very enigmatic. It even started a small debate over this question, is it the eyes that smile or the mouth?
The Last Supper
This is the famous religious painting The Last Supper. This painting is a representation of when Jesus told his disciples that when of them would betray him and had his last meal before his crucifixion. In the two pictures you can see a big difference in the detail and color. This is because the one on the top is the original untouched image of the last Supper and the bottom one is the touched up one using modern technology. So as you can see the bottom one would be how Leonardo would see his painting.
Anatomy Study on the Human Arm
This is one of leonardo's studies. This particular study is on the human arm. The study shows the mechanics, muscle and bone that works to allow movement in the human arm.
Parachute Design
This is a design for a parachute that Leonardo drew. It is one of the earliest known designs of a parachute recorded. Comparing this to modern parachutes it has a lot smoother ride but the only downside is the parachute is very heavy and it gets easily damaged.
The Baptism of Christ
This is the painting that was mentioned in the biography page. As you can see Leonardo painted the angel in the bottom left corner. Of course although Leonardo doesn't take full credit for this painting he takes a considerable amount. The story behind this painting is it's the Baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist.
Vitruvian Man
This is a sketch done in ink that displays a man in two different positions while simultaneously being in a circle and square. This sketch shows Leonardo's interest in proportions and him trying to relate a man to nature. There are many proportions in this sketch, an example would be that the stretched out arms are equal to the height of a man.
St. Jerome in the Wilderness
This is Leonardo's unfinished painting of St. Jerome. He is in the Syrian desert, in the wilderness. In the unfinished painting you can see a lion that became a companion after he pulled a thorn out of its paw. There is not a lot of information on this painting considering it isn't finished but there is some detail to what the saint had with him, for example the rock in his right hand.
